One of the best smaller college campuses in the area is the Pima Community College. This school was originally founded in 1966 in Pima County, which is the county where Tucson is located. The school first opened its doors for class in 1969. There are six different campuses of the college spread out around the city of Tucson. There are several learning centers associated with the college as well such as the Green Valley Community Learning Center and the Southeast Education Center, to name a few.

Tourism in Tucson

A big reason many people consider buying Tucson real estate and moving to the city is the many ample job opportunities that abound in the city. One of the leading industries in Tucson is the tourist industry. Nearly three million people roll through Tucson every year. Some of these people come to see the many wonderful attractions, like the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show or the Tucson Rodeo. Others have homes in the area and move down for the winter since the weather is so mild in Tucson during the winter months. There are also a lot of hotels and resorts in the area that employ many of the citizens who live in the city.

Weather

It is no surprise that many individuals, especially those of retirement age, have bought Tucson real estate for the sole purpose of avoiding super cold winters and massive amounts of snow. The winter is usually fairly warm compared to other parts of the country, with temperatures that stay mild in the 60s. The air is very dry and there is little precipitation to worry about, so you can enjoy a number of outdoor activities like golf all year round.
