Population and Race

Tanque Verde TrailsWhen most people buy Tucson homes for sale in the Tanque Verde Trails subdivision, one of the first things they notice is how large the city is and how diverse its population is. Moving to Tucson means expanding your horizons and rubbing elbows with people from a variety of different cultures and races. The Tucson city area is predominately White, with close to 70% of the population marked as such on the last Census, but almost half of those marked White are actually also Hispanic. The community has a very large and rich community of Hispanic or Latino people who, along with those marked as White and Latino, are 41% of Tucson’s population.

Education

Picking a school for your children to attend once you buy Tucson real estate and get settled in can be difficult with so many excellent schools to choose from. There are a number of great public schools in the city’s many districts. The largest district in the area in terms of enrollment is the Tucson Unified School District. If you would prefer to send your child to a school that has a more focused and specialized curriculum,  you can send him or her to one of the many award winning charter schools in Tucson or to private schools like the Green Fields Country Day School, the oldest private school in the southern part of Arizona.

Local Industries and Economy

A lot of people who buy Tucson homes and relocate from other places of the country are attempting to better themselves financially. Tucson has many wonderful industries that have great paying jobs for the taking. The leading industry is technology and medical technology. There are several large technology companies in the area, such as IBM, that hire a lot of local residents. Tourism is also a big industry in Tucson, as lots of people come to Arizona to escape cold winter temperatures.
