The Pima County area is heavily Democratic, with over 50% of the population having voted for the Democratic candidate in 2008.  This stands in stark contrast to the city of Phoenix that is known to mostly support Republican candidates, ideas, and values.

One of the most fun events to participate in is the Tucson Rodeo. This event is held in the spring time and is usually a week long and is such a big deal in the area that some local schools even take time off from the school year to enjoy the festivities.
