Covering only about ten acres and averaging no more than 7 feet deep, the lake is small and comfortable. You will not have to worry about getting overwhelmed or lost!
The Urban Fishing Opportunity
Sahuarita Lake is part of the Tucson urban fishing group, so before you go fishing here, you will need to make sure you have a valid Urban Fishing License. You will also need to make sure you understand the regulations here. You will be allowed to make use of a boat, but only boats with electric motors are allowed. This is to keep the lake friendly for fish. You cannot swim in the lake or even get in the water, so make sure to not break the rules so that you can enjoy your fishing excursion.
Getting There
Sahuarita is nestled in the city, just minutes from Tucson homes, and you can easily reach it by taking I-19 to Sahuarita road. Then, you will just need to turn north on La Villita Road. You will run right into the lake. Sahuarita Lake is a small urban lake that has plenty to offer. Once you get here, you will be able to fish for Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Sunfish, Bluegill and even Largemouth Bass. Some of these fish are only available in the right season.
