Mount Lemmon is located in the The Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson Arizona. Mount Lemmon receives 180 inches of snow annually and Ski Valley is the southernmost ski area in the United States, which is perched near the 9,157' summit. Mount Lemmon Ski runs are usually open from mid-December to early April, depending on winter weather and snowfall.

Some Tucson residents have a Mount Lemmon Cabin or second vacation home. There is a wide variety of real estate and cabins on Mt Lemmon located in the village of Mt. Lemmon. Included in the deeded areas are Summerhaven Subdivision, Mount Lemmon Estates 1 & 2, Woodridge Vacation Homes, Loma Sabino Pines as well as land and cabins which are not in a Mt Lemmon subdivision. One can also buy Mount Lemmon cabins that have been built on land leased from the Forest Service. These cabins are located in two areas, Soldier's Camp and Willow Canyon summer home areas. Soldier's Camp area includes Fern Ridge and Bear Wallow. You can still find a cabin for under $100,000 however, in recent years the Mount Lemmon Homes have become quite luxurious and now can be over $1,000,000.

Mount Lemmon is located just an hour's drive from the sun-drenched desert of Tucson and visitors can go golfing, swimming and downhill skiing in the same day. Mount Lemmon Ski Valley offers ski equipment rentals, instruction, the Iron Door Restaurant, a snack bar and gift shop. Overnight accommodations are available in the nearby village of Summerhaven. The chair lift is in operation all year round, taking visitors to a high overlook from which they can enjoy views of the Santa Catalinas, the city of Tucson and the distant mountains near Globe and Phoenix.

Catalina Highway, also called the Mount Lemmon Highway, runs up the Santa Catalina Mountains from the east side of Tucson up to Summerhaven, at the top of Mt. Lemmon. Summerhaven is a quaint village of shops and restaurants in the heart of Mount Lemmon ski area. Mount Lemmon is a great place for that second home, and a must place to have lunch and a cool visit.
