Mount Lemmon CabinsMount Lemmon gets its name from a woman who travelled to the top of the mountain with Indian guides named Sarah Lemmon. Sarah Lemmon was a botanist and she made her famous journey in 1881. This beautiful mountain has some of the most gorgeous Tucson real estate for sale, with log cabins doubling as both vacation homes for many and a permanent place to live for others. One of the things the mountain is most famous for is skiing. Mount Lemmon receives almost 200 inches of snow every year.

Demographics

The population of Mount Lemmon is quite small due to the fact that most of the Tucson real estate owned in the area is only used for vacation homes. The majority of the people that own Tucson homes in the area are in their thirties to mid-50s or older. The population of permanent residents is somewhere around 75. Of that total there are at least 7 married couples.
More males live in the area than females. Over 55% of the population is male, with the percentage of females being less than 45%. The average household income falls around $32,000 or more.

Things to Do

There are a lot of fun things you can do when you own some Tucson real estate with a beautiful log cabin vacation home. As stated earlier, the Mount Lemmon region is known for excellent skiing. You can also visit the back side of the mountain which features a dirt trail most often used by 4×4 enthusiasts and those with off road vehicles. The first Mount Lemmon Marathon was started in 2010 and is also a fun activity for both residents and tourists to participate in.
