Tortolita Middle School is the Home of the Cougars
Serving students in 7th and 8th grades, Tortolita Middle School is an excellent place for kids to learn and excel. The motto for Tortolita is ROARS, which stands for Responsibility, Ownership, Accountability, Respect and Supportive. Students are reminded to abide by this motto throughout middle school and as they transition into being in high school.
Clubs and Activities
Tortolita offers students the opportunity to participate in band classes, jazz band, orchestra choir and drama. Other special programs are available for students interested in technology, multi-media and human ecology. Dance club is a specialized program for students interested in learning and practicing new dances. The Breakfast Club is a unique program designed to help students feel empowered to promote a healthy lifestyle. Students in this program participate in a variety of charitable activities throughout the school year. The Walk and Talk Club is another great way that students build their personal relationships while also taking care of their physical wellbeing.
Family and Community Improvement Programs
An in depth counseling program is available at Tortolita Middle School and offers students the ability to attend group sessions, individual sessions and personalized grief counseling. A home weatherization program is available through the local community and the counselors at Tortolita give students and their families all available information to ensure families who qualify can get started on this program. The overall wellness of all families is important to the success of every student and the staff at Tortolita Middle School understands this and is dedicated to ensuring all families have the services they need to thrive.
