The Mountain Lions of Mountain View High School
This school was originally built because of overcrowding at the Marana High School. Students in nearby schools got the opportunity to name the school and choose its mascot in 1986. Families who are moving to the Tucson area and looking for Tucson real estate will find this area of town is superb for raising a family.
Academics
The educational program at Mountain View is extremely large and offers students the ability to pick and choose programs of study that suit their personal goals for the future. Students can take extra classes in the arts, science and language to expand their knowledge base and make them more interesting candidates when applying to colleges. All students at Mountain View are encouraged to discuss their programs of study on a yearly basis and counselors at the school will help make any adjustments as necessary.
Sports and Other Activities
Soccer, baseball and football are just a few of the sports available to students to participate in at Mountain View High School. Other programs include track, volleyball and softball; just to name a few. Students who are participating in any of these afterschool programs must meet minimum grade requirements to be able to participate in games, meets or matches for their sport of choice. Weeknight games are common for these extracurricular sports teams and the community is a huge support in attending these events.
