The Howling Coyotes of Ironwood Elementary
Ironwood Elementary school is dedicated to providing an environment which offers children the opportunity to succeed. Students are made to feel comfortable and are nurtured as they go through the process of learning. Education is viewed as a partnership which exists between the parents, teachers and school administrators. Tucson homes for sale in this area vary in price but are typically extremely affordable.
Thrilling Thursdays
This unique parent led activity program is offered during the lunch recess every Thursday afternoon at Ironwood Elementary. Parents lead the kids in activities using hula hoops, jump ropes and kickball. The purpose of this Thursday afternoon program is to encourage good sportsmanship and activity in the students. As part of this program students can add much needed physical exercise to their weekly routine.
Running Club
The Mileage clubs is a voluntary program offered to students every Wednesday over the lunch hour. Students are encouraged to run around the playground area which is approximately one mile. When completing one lap students will receive a punch on their card showing they completed the lap, additional prizes are offered further down the road. Many students in the running club also participate in the Thrilling Thursday’s program and find they are both extremely enjoyable.
Other School Clubs
The Ironwood Elementary school also offers access to two highly enjoyable groups which the community operates within the school. The Young Rembrandts program is designed to nurture the inner artist inside everyone who attends and the Mad Science club concentrates on expanding kid’s views of science and their ability to use those skills and transfer them into other ways of expression. The Parent Teacher Organization is another club open for parents to join and it helps provide much needed school accessories that they otherwise could not afford.
