The Family Environment of Coyote Trail Elementary
The Coyote Trail Elementary school is committed to developing and inspiring their students and the Coyote Trail schools likes to consider everyone part of a family. Ongoing goals of the school are to help students become effective leaders in their community and reach their personal goals and potential. Opened in 1996, Coyote Trail was originally the only elementary school located in the Continental Ranch area. Housing in this area is exploding making it the perfect area for Tucson real estate sales.
School Services
At Coyote Trail many specialty programs are available to meet children’s educational needs. Some of these programs include advanced reading and math placement for children as needed. Before and after school daycare through the Learning Enrichment and Play program, L.E.A.P., and a highly involved parents and teacher support group called PTF.
Free tutoring is available to students at the Coyote Trail elementary school and can be provided at either the L.E.A.P. program or arranged separately on a per student basis. Students requiring language skills are enrolled in the English Language Learning class, or ELL, which is designed to help non-native English students adjust to their new school environment.
Clubs and Activities
On Tuesdays the combination of students and staff enjoy an afterschool workout together with the Miler’s Club. By participating in this program students earn school tokens for every 10 miles completed and additional t-shirt, backpack and trophy as more miles are accomplished. The student council of Coyote Trail is an extremely active club which teaches students about leadership and service.
Other clubs and activities are also available throughout the school year depending on student interest and available resources. As a member of the Coyote Trail Elementary school students and their families are encouraged to participate in fundraiser activities like the Climb to Conquer Cancer where students help raise money for cancer and hike up a local area trail.
