Esperanza Estates is a community located in Green Valley, Arizona. Green Valley has become known as a thriving, highly active retirement community that is located 20 miles south of the great city of Tucson. Much of the Tucson real estate property is settled in by individuals over the age of 65, as would be expected in a retirement community. About 73% of the residents are of this age group and about 2% of the population is 25 to 44. Members of the community are 98% white, 0.18% African American, 0.19% Native American, and 0.33% Asian.

There are a total of around 10,000 households, with the majority of those households being made up of married couples. Due to the fact that most people who have purchased Tucson homes for sale in the Green Valley area being over 65, most do not have any children under the age of 18. Only 1% of the households in the area have children.

Education

The primary focus of education in the Green Valley area is on higher learning. There are four universities for high school graduates or adults to look into to further their education. There are also 6 smaller community colleges in the area. These institutions are all located within 15 miles of Green Valley, making a commute from the area to school very short. There is only one school in the area to cover children who are in grades K-12.
